Apologies for being absent lately. Just kidding, I’m not sorry. This past weekend I got married. Most of this month was the final sprint to the alter. Between answering vendor emails and calls, final edits on the program (that still had errors) and two more dress fittings, I was trying to maintain a coolness that would bleed over to my mom and also keep up the image of being a normalish person so Josh wouldn’t back out.
But it’s all done now. It couldn’t have been a better day and we all lived to talk about it.
In my best email fashion, I will try to fill you in on everything that’s happened to me in the last month or so via bullet points. In no particular order.
-I have a husband. Wow, that’s still new to me. Josh and I are married for real and so far, so good.
-We had a wedding. It was a beautiful Mass followed by a raging dance party and then a hotel gathering of the truly brave. The whole day went pretty smoothly. It even rained at the appropriate times. I’m dying to see the rest of the photos. Sneak peek above. Creep away using the hashtag #2Heffand2hold.
hazed welcomed me to Hefferfest. That deserves a post of its own that’s sitting in my drafts right now. More on that later.
– I spent last week in St. Louis. It was fast and relaxing and hectic and productive and fun. A week off work is always a treat in itself. Coming back to almost 300 emails, less great.
– Josh and I had an impromptu Meat Loaf lipsync at the reception. The whole moment just happened like magic. I can’t pinpoint how it started or exactly when. Trust me, it was not planned.
– We now have a lot of legit home goods. I have never cooked with a sharper knife or dried off with a softer towel. It’s like getting out of the shower and wrapping yourself in a cloud. Please come visit because we now have an air mattress too!
